Happiness in a teen
Written by Lindsay (LMG)
According to Merriam Webster’s dictionary, The definition of Happiness is, 1 a: obsolete: good fortune: PROSPERITY 2 a : a state of well-being and contentment : JOY b : a pleasurable or satisfying experience. But why would Obsolete be included in the definition? To be obsolete would translate into being worthless, unusable, replaceable, etc. How exactly can “contentment” and “obsolete” be connected? They clearly clash, one meaning satisfied, another meaning, in a sense, needing to be filled into a satisfactory state.
Why would obsolete be in the definition? Because they consider that definition to be obsolete.
