We have found out that we are going to have a baby boy. My fiance' chose the name Alexander James and we are going to name him that. I am very uncomfortable and can't wait till the nine months is up. I am due October 22nd. I am very scared though with the labor because I am unable to have an epidural so I have to have a natural childbirth. I don't have much as far as hips go and it scares me that I am going to have a difficult labor. Any suggestions as to what I can do?

I have no advice for an easy labor. I've heard doing yoga and working out will make an easy birth but I have no clue.

Congrats on the baby boy. Try not to stress about the birth until later. Stress isn't good for you or the baby.

You can get pain meds through an IV. There are many ways to EASE labor but there is no cure for it except the epi. and even then the epi doesn't always work. I would suggest taking lamaz(sp?) classes. Yoga. Stretching A LOT. Sitting on a excersize ball and rolling your hips on it. For me I had only 3 hours of labor and didn't have time for an epi or any pain meds. You could be like that you never know. You could also be one that takes forever. You can also be the one that is 10cm dialated and never knew you were in labor. It just depends on your body. Just have faith and remember that the pain WILL go away. You're not in CONSTANT pain. Only when you have a contraction.. and that's even if the pain is really bad for you. What help me was my husband holding my hand and a nurse grabbing me by the face and telling me to breathe(sense of humor) but hell... do what you have to do. Then you have this screaming bundle in your arms... It's a proud moment and you'll forget you were ever in pain. Just look forward to it and you'll do fine.

Congrats on the little boy!
I have a son :)

Why can't you have an epi?

And yes you can get pain meds through an Iv..

The pain does end after the baby comes.. so that's something to look forward to.. Just keep thinking itll be over soon lol

Take lamaz. I heard it's supposed to help but i always thought it was just for breathing and i held my breath most of the time anyways lol. It going to hurt no matter what you do to be honest. There are different positions you can lay/sit in to help ease it a little.
