You know when you're sitting on a chair and you lean back so you're just on two legs then you lean too far and you almost fall over but at the last second you catch yourself? I feel like that all the time.

Re: Graphing Calculator
TI-82 is the standard at my school, so pretty much everyone is expected to have one. People with Casios and such have a harder time keeping up with everything because stuff is so different so check into what is expected at your school and if you're going to go with another brand, know the calculator very well before you even start.
Ebay has some good calculators cheap (look for the "Buy It Now" symbol if you don't want to mess around with bidding). Type in the calculator type you need and then "graphing calculator" in the search box and you should get some results. Check and see if you can find some new ones, if not some barely used ones. You can get really good deals on Ebay sometimes (I got $70 software for $23, brand new unregistered.)

Heh. Mine was like $90 or something.
Whatever our failings may be, we need not lower our eyes in the presence of Jesus...Jesus comes not for the super-spiritual but for the wobbly and the weak-kneed who know they don't have it all together, and who are not too proud to accept the handout of amazing grace. As we glance up, we are astonished to find the eyes of Jesus open with wonder, deep with understanding, and gentle with compassion.

Re: Graphing Calculator
I'm not a big fan of the TI83, its main feature over the 82 is its larger archive memory.
I am a big fan of the TI-86 though, it and the 82 were standards at my HS. Both are good calcs, but the 86 has better programing functions, a smoother interface, and more memory.
Just remember that any model higher than the 86 cannot be used at SAT/ACT tests, such as the 89 and 92. Those bad boys will automatically solve an equation if you simply enter it.

Re: Graphing Calculator
My calculator was expensive. My TI-83 Plus ran me 94 bucks at Wal-Mart!
But I'm sure you can get it cheaper tho.

Re: Graphing Calculator
the one i bought 3 years ago was $100... but they are a bit cheaper these days, i think. i saw one at target for only $30 on sale.
i recommend a TI-83 --they're the best for many different types of math and very easy to use (not to mention good gaming capabilities!)
