Alive
I used to watch the world pass me by.
I'd sit and wait for it to slow down, but why?
The world gave up on me, that I know.
For the pain goes on, life will no longer glow.
Then one day it hit me like a wall.
There was no reason for me to fall.
For all that I had bottled up inside,
Was a remarkable person waiting to be alive.

Re: Algebra 1 Crap
i thought for it to be y-intercept it had to be set up like (0,6) with the zero in front

Re: Algebra 1 Crap
Just write the equation??
Pt ( -3, 6 ) m = 2
y - b = m (x-a)
y - 6 = 2 (x -(-3))
y - 6 = 2x +6
y = 2x + 12
Pt ( -3, 6 ) m = 2
y - b = m (x-a)
y - 6 = 2 (x -(-3))
y - 6 = 2x +6
y = 2x + 12

Re: Algebra 1 Crap
If you have one point on the line, and the slope, you can use this simple POINT-SLOPE FORM to figure out the SLOPE-INTERCEPT form in a few easy steps, more fleshed out then Jungle said:
Standard:
y - y' = m(x - x')
Then, plug in your point and slope:
y - 6 = 2(x + 3)
And then change to slope-intercept form:
y - 6 = 2x + 6
[y = 2x + 12]
Standard:
y - y' = m(x - x')
Then, plug in your point and slope:
y - 6 = 2(x + 3)
And then change to slope-intercept form:
y - 6 = 2x + 6
[y = 2x + 12]
