*sniffles* So i want to turn that last verse in my sig green, but it wont let me... and the odd part is, when i click the little 'check length' thingy, it says that the maximum is 500 chars, and that [when i have it set to turn it green] i've used something like 497. What gives?
*snifles* alls i want is ter turn it green... or any color for that matter [and i did try almost all]

This is what i did:
1. Went to Mod CP
2. Went to Manage Members
3. Type in your name (took me to your profile)
4. Changed it to green (using bracket things and words)
I learned it from skye or od...one fo them

Ok so here's a question to an admin or some other incharge-type-person-who-knows-this-stuff:
If the max is 500 chars, then why dosnt it cut off at 500 chars? hmm? or is it just me??

Because it would require a lot of javascript overhead to monitor text as you enter it (as well as an invasion or privacy) for how many characters you're typing. It's far better and far, far more efficient to just check for the character limit as you submit the text. Any signatures that were 500+ PREVIOUS to us instating the 500 chr restriction, will stay like that until they try and edit it next. Then it will make them reduce it.

*blinks* i think my question is being missed.
When i tried to do it, i had a total of 497 chars [with the green dealy], and if the limit is 500 [not 497] then why wont it let me have 497? [and actually it went several chars less than that before it would allow me to leave it yes i messed with it for awhile, no i have no life other than messing with tags to see exactly how many numbers it is off and posting my pointless findings o.o]

I am still not quite sure what you are saying. It won't allow you to exceed 500 and if it gave you an error or alert saying you exceed the limit then you did indeed exceed the limit.
