1. Limestone (calcium carbonate) is decomposed to give lime (calcium oxide) and carbon dioxide. Use your chart to calculate the heat energy required to decompose one mole of limestone.

a.) How manly grams of lime are formed when 29.4 kJ are absorbed?

b.) How much energy is absorbed when 56.4 grams of carbon dioxide are produced?

2. Decompose magnesium hydroxide to give magnesium oxide and liquid water.

a.) How much energy is needed to decompose 95.2 grams of magnesium hydroxide?

3. Ammonia is burned to give nitrogen monoxide and gaseous water.

a.) How many grams of water are needed to produce 37.6 KJ of energy?

b.) How much energy is produced when 62.7 grams of ammonia are burned?

4. When 55.5 grams of liquid water changes to gaseous water, how much energy is exchanged?
