Getting Ged After Dropping Out

hey, i was just wondering. is it worth the same thing? like, would colleges care if your an A+ student but havent gone to an acctual high school? and how long does it take to get it? thanks.

my mom says that GED's are very intence and (if you are still in High school) to stay in high school because it would be soo much easier and so much more benificial to your life...

she says that colleges look at them kinda the same thought high school diplomas are like 1% more "respected" then GED's....
