And when she does relief comes setting in
While she hides the scars she's making underneath her pretty clothes
She sings:

C'mon baby can you bleed like me

Re: 1984 By George Orwell
Well I learnt 1984 last year and I did an essay talking about media control.
That's a big thing in 1984...how the government controlled the ppl...and how they reacted to that.
U could compare it to nowaday life, because frankly, some of the media stuff they do in 1984 is similar to what we do now, and we're okay w/ it.
I.E. We believe whatever the papers say (well we're getting smarter, but stilll)...if someone tells us to hate or fear let's say, Osama Bin Laden, we believe the media on the spot. Now i'm not denying he's a bad person, but still...we were told to believe that the taliban was the perpetrators of 9-11, and we haven't seen any proof.
In 1984, people were told to hate Goldstein, and they believed that.
Big Borther-President Bush
Wanna try that? It may be daring, but lots of ppl don't like Bush now anyways.

My tears will be hidden behind this fake grin
You can see me through these metal bars-I won't let you in
It's my life and I screwed it-You're not to blame
And though I keep on trying, it's so hard to change.

Re: 1984 By George Orwell
i would...but there are specific questions we have to answer...
i have to do one of the three...
1. identify adn analyze the use and interpretation of symbols in the novel. select majopr symbols and illustrate their significance in the novel.
2. identify the theme or message of the novel. does it present an optomistic or pessimistic view of life? discuss this theme in terms of a contemporary issue.
3. what insight into human nature is gained through the characters. looking at a character's values as they are reflected in the novel.
#3 means kind of what life lessons did Winston learn...and stuff like that... but we can only pick one...and i would kind of like to do the symbolism one, but i cant think of any symbols...

Re: 1984 By George Orwell
come on guys!!! i need help with this...and the essay is on monday. ive got one symbol, the victory gin, because people ususally drink good tasting things for a victory, and victory is usually good. but the victory gin is bitter and it just keeps getting worse and worse. so the gin symbolizes the party's victory, because yeah...i had it worked out, but i forgot...
