Favorite Books

Post by Kiyotie »

Well, since we don't have an entertainment section anymore I figured I'd ask this here. What is the best book you've ever read? (I'd really like to know what the best ROMANCE books are since I like them and I'd like to read any recommended!)

Some of the best ones I've read are:

- Cold Mountain

- Hatchet

- Island of the Blue Dolphins

- A Child Called It

and others.
Whatever our failings may be, we need not lower our eyes in the presence of Jesus...Jesus comes not for the super-spiritual but for the wobbly and the weak-kneed who know they don't have it all together, and who are not too proud to accept the handout of amazing grace. As we glance up, we are astonished to find the eyes of Jesus open with wonder, deep with understanding, and gentle with compassion.

*sigh* this will be closed.

I read mainly non-fiction books, examples:

Emotional Intelligence by Daniel Goleman

Mean Genes by Terry Burnham & Jay Phelan

Why Are They So Weird? by Barbara Strauch (This was soo good, about why teenagers are the way they are)

But my favourite fiction book of all time has to be The Catcher in the Rye by JD Salinger. It's just so good.

If you're looking for an... "interesting" romance novel, I like The Tower Room by Adele Geras. Hee hee.
I traded my dreams for this mess of memories

And they just stopped working for me...

I love the Child Called It books. David Pelzer.... there's just no words. I love the Scarlet Letter!! I also love anything by Nora Roberts. She's a great author. I love to read so if you put anything in front of me, I'd read it.

Yes Lord of the Flies was a very good book. So was Of Mice and Men. I did read Poisonwood Bible but it wasn't that great.

Thanks for the suggestions,

Holly
