Splits In 30 Days

What do you think? I need to be able to do my right, left, and Chinese (middle) splits (or as close as I can get) by July 30th. Does anyone think that's possible, and/or have any pointers?



Quick fill in: I'm just started dancing again, since I was 5, b/c I've made the school's dance team. Team/Boot camp starts August, and we get all our supplies July 30th...Any other questions, just ask.

I think so.. are you close right now? You just have to work on your flexibility. Don't try and over do it though because then you might get a strain and u could really get hurt.



What kind of dance? Ballet?

All kinds of dance: Jazz, Modern *cheese* (really like that...), Ballet, Hip Hop, Pop, Pom



On my left and right I'm ~6in from the florr, maybe less. adn in the middle about ~10in.

Your close.. keep trying.. you'll get there. It took me about 3 weeks.

Of course you can. put one leg on something like 6 in off the ground and just like sit there for a min (hurts like &*)(*&, but works like a charm...just do it for all your splits.

I'd say just keep practicing. You'll get it don't worry. I can't even do a split so don't feel bad.

I know a great way how to help on working with splits, its just really hard to explain, so if it doesnt make sence, im sorry i tried!! :P



Try putting on of your legs on the countertops or something and stretch, it usually stretches out the muscles enough and everything, then do what you have been doing, you'll be able to get it by the end of july!! Good luck :)

Ouch glad Im not you right now! Definitely not that bendy. But I can do middle splits...hmm dont know how. But keep workin on it force yrself a little farther down every couple days.. You can do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you know how when you stretch your splits and you cant touch the ground it hurts if you take your hands off the ground. thats basicly what you have to do except you put one ankle up on something (i usually use my front leg for side splits and then just pick one for straddle). what you put your leg on should be like 6in- 12in off the ground. i usually use one of those gymnastic beams that are close to the ground, but you can use whatever.

Thanx, I get it now. It really hurts, plus I think I'm doing in wrong so I might not be helping, just making things worse. I don't think I'll be able to them...Or be a great dancer either. All my dreams/wishes/desires/fantasies are all wack, I don't even know why I try.

Just keep STRETCHING. STRETCH! Thats all you can do. Just when you wake up, do a split as far as you can, holding yourself up with your hands for 15-20 seconds. Do it in the middle of the day, same way, and same before you go to sleep. You'll see results in no time.

It's definately possible...





strech while you're watching TV... I've slept in splits before, but I wouldn't suggest that because it hurt like hell in the morning... Just strech whenever... The best way to strech is with a partner, what you do it stand against the wall on one foot and have your partner push your foot up to the walll behind you while keeping both legs straight... I do that all the time
