Warning Levels

Post by silvertears »

Well, i was wondering how you can get rid of your warning levels, or lower them down IF at all possible..
I'm a poor wayfaring stranger

While traveling thru this world of woe

Yet there's no sickness, toil, or danger

In that bright world to which I go

I'm going there to see my Father

I'm going there no more to roam

I'm only going over Jordan

I'm only going over home

I know dark clouds will hang 'round me,

I know my way is rough and steep

Yet beauteous fields lie just before me

Where God's redeemed their virgils keep

I'm going there to see my mother

She said she'd meet me when I come

I'm only going over Jordan

I'm only going over home

Get another 67% then, get banned and then it'll go back to 0%.

From the FAQs that will be up shortly:

Q: How does the banning system work?

A: Our banning system takes advantage of two important items. First, it removes a troublesome user for a period of time so that they can have a cool down. The second recognizes that people do change and to be fair to them we allow them back, but a deterrent to continue misbehaving on our site is that the next time they get banned (if they get banned again), that their ban time will double. This process will just keep going. If you try to avoid your ban, your ban time will INSTANTLY double for EACH time you try to avoid it.

Q: I have a warning or two. Will they ever go down?

A: The main idea behind our warning system is that you have 3 warnings and then you get banned for a period of time, subject to our banning methods. Once you get a warning, your warning level will NOT go down. The only way to make it go down is by continuing to get warnings. Once you have reached 3 warnings, you are banned and the time of the ban is subject to the banning methods. After you have served your ban, your warning level goes back to 0 (if we forget to reset it back to 0, please remind an Administrator via PM). If you get a warning, and continue to get warnings on purpose just to get your warning level back down to 0 it will NEGATIVELY AFFECT the way that we look at you on the Support Groups and there may be consequences.

These arent the final wording, but ya, they convey the message

If you're sort of adding and removing things from the system, I have a few suggestions to make. I'd usually go to the suggestions board, but I don't want to be yelled at. Could I arrange a time to discuss them with an administrator?

I want my warning level down too, but I'm not about to be banned for.. 14 months? to do so!!

Just stay fluffy, some staff members (ahem) have a warn level too and sometimes it couldn't have been avoided or you didn't know it was going to cause one.

Well when you've been around here as long as I have.. you tend to do a few norty things every now and then.

I'm a reformed bunny now though, and the rules list is more precise now than it was before! :)

The new rules pages are looking cool btw.. wait til you see them. :D Maybe we should stick to the rules now and stop going off-topic.

B)

It will all be explained in the new FAQ which Adam is writing, about how to keep your warn level down and what a warn level is and all that sort of stuff!! Keep your eyes peeled for those.. I think they're nearly ready for publication. :D

You confused me Helen... How could you be banned for 14 months? The system does not work like that, it starts at two weeks and doubles from there, 2 weeks, 1 month, 2 months, 4 months, 8 months, 16 months and so on, no 14 months. And from what I see it will only be 4 months...
