plus the old phpBB database was falling apart day to day and it was just a matter of time before it crashed.
How did you manage to destroy it??

phpBB just wasn't a good program to handel our 1500 users. it was too much for the prgram. no one person distroyed it, it was a team effort. and the old form is still up just its closed to new topics/replys and new users

The forum software corrupted it's own database, and slowley things were starting not to function properly. It is much better that we had made this switch now rather than later when the forums would crash.

This can be prevented sometimes if not just prolong the process...by optimizing the database periodically.

Simply put phpbb was never deseigned to handle that sort of load. There was nothing we could do to save it, with that much of a strain on it it was just a matter of time before it crashed. The main reason we didn't convert over the posts and users was because of the fact that the phpbb databases are half corrupt but also because of all the trolls we had going around.

Well...I knew that the database was going to hell...well I had an idea...but that is a good reason to not convert. TROLLS SUCK!

It's going to take me a little while to get used to this new thing... I'm a technologically illiterate. Ah well. It seems to be better organized than the phpBB was.

Well yes, but we made it just a little bit harder for them. And it makes it just a little bit easier for us to ban them also.
