Invision 2.0 Upgrade

Post by StressedOut »

Hi, I'm just wondering when the boards are going to be upgraded to Invision 2.0 since we gave them the $200.

LOL they are working on it right now. The skins are in development. A couple more weeks at most.

Goof, our resident skin developer has to deal with his own site first... but Skye and him are exchanging emails on a regular basis throwing ideas for new features and so forth. It is being worked on, we have the license now, we've upgraded the groups on a testing database, all works fine, so now it's just the skinning that needs doing.

Goof will give us a temporary skin within the next week that is a cross between the Invision 2.0 Default skin and what we have right now. It won't have all of the extreme refinement that this one does, but it will tide you all over while allowing us to upgrade to v2.0. It's not very smart to stay at an old version of software too long as vulnerabilities are found and that?s why the developers release new versions. So, from a security standpoint, it makes sense too.

Goof has a lot of things to do for his own site and I have personally told him on countless occasions that his priorities should not change for me or HelpingTeens.org. He wants to take care of his site first and I fully support him in this decision as he is donating his time and his services to us free of charge out of the kindness of his heart. I know there will be absolute fall out when everyone discovers the first second there is no skin variations, and no, there won?t be any color flavors until the skin is in final condition and the hybrid has outlived its usefulness (i.e. he will have completed the full skin). Please be patient folks. We will upgrade to IPB v2.02 very soon.

Thank you.

How many times do I have to answer this question before people catch on?

Oh, I'm sure that skins will be available. Hey Skye: If we find a nice 2.0 skin we'd like put on the SG's - would you put it on the groups for us?

That skin will be added when InvisionThings.com (the maker of that particular skin series) updates it to version 2.02. We'll see about adding it, but I'd like to hold off on adding that skin series after upgrade until I can figure out a way to add a site-wide navigation to the top of that skin. I'm thinking just a custom header for all non-official forum skins, but like I said. I'll look into it. And the new official HT skin will have many color flavors, including gray. So, no worries.

Within reason, yes. But, also read my reply to the above quote. I'll need to figure out how to add a reasonably nice custom header to any non-official HT skins.

Ditto.

I don't get why these people want these disguisting colors of oranges and pinks. Dear god...
