Ok since we don't have a phobia forum i'll post it here:
Soon i have to go visit old people for NHS....
and, don't laugh, im scared of old people...its not that i dislike them or hate them im just scared of elderly people that are in a home...
my grandma was in one and all the other people scared me...
its hard to explain why...like i don't know if im afraid they will die or w/e its just...they scare me...
when i was visiting my gma her roomie was scycotic so she was like ripping everything and talking to herself and answring herself and arguing...

Jeff, I'm sorry but this is just one of those things that you have to face and then GET OVER. You'll come into contact with many old people in your life that you simply cannot avoid, and I think they would be pretty offended if you said "Nope, sorry can't come near you, I'm scared of 'your kind'... "
Just realize that they were young once, they were your age, they're just very interesting, friendly people. Just think of how much life they've lived, and how each person you see has a whole different story. I'm always so interested by old people. I just think of what they looked like when they were young, what they used to do. It's so cool. They're always so friendly too.
You're going to be old once too- and I understand that it's a phobia, but would you want people to be 'scared' of you?
Just go, be polite, be civil, be friendly, and make conversation. You'll see that they're probably the least threatening of any age group out there.

aww, jeff im the same way, like one or two old people i can handle, but like a whole bunch of them it creeps me out, becuase yeah.. theyre all... scary. but yeah, try to keep your head up high!

Yeah sure some old people are scary...some young people are awfully scary too.. 
why be biased against old people?
Not all old people are psychotic...I happen to enjoy so many old people because they've lived their lifes and now they just get enjoyment out of such small things..I've performed for groups of older people or in nursing homes and those things, and you should see the absolute joy they get from it.. it's cute. so many of them just love to be visited and talked to like they're normal human beings..not old people stuck in a home..so treat them as such.
just don't judge them.. go visit them.. and have fun.

well i took your advice and i went in there and was scared shitless...
i mean there were some nice but there were some that scared me...especially the ones in the demintia wing...
i dunno...i mean yeah my gma was in one before and epople scared me...
hmm...
its over w/ but i will have to do it again next year...
i didn't get over my phobia but im not like super scared....im just frighetend...

This is really funny.
Jeff - you just gotta get over it. I used to be scared of spiders. Then I like...realised that they were animals too. And I had on right to take away their life.
You just have to get over it and move on. It may take a while, but I guarentee you, it works.

Yah, old people our kinda scary, but I agian thinks is more of a mental thing. Go into that home with a positivate attitude towards old people, and leave with a positve impression of old people.... I think that would help the best. Nothing else you could really do...
