Tipping

Post by SirPostAlot »

whats the right tipping?

*for food i tip around 15%

*hair cut is always $14 and i tip: $3 (for good gel and good hair cut)...$2 (for good hair cut bad gel)...$1 (for good gel bad hair cut)...$0 (bad gel bad cut) (though i will always leave at least $1 cuz i feel bad...

hmm...

but what is the standars tipping process?

10-15 % usually

i usually go for whatever is closest to the even $$... ie a hair cut for 12.84 goes to 14, and served dinner that's 28.xx goes to 30.... etc

I tip average.... unless i know that i'm going to need the services again (IE at a hotel, i tip large if i'm gonna stay a week)

yeah that makes sence...

well i feel bad if i don't tip waitresses/waiters ... cuz i work at a resturante and they bitch alot in the back if a person didn't tip so i always tip...

for housekeeping at a hotel i usually only leave a few dollars...i don't really tip them alot...like on JH trips me and my roomies just through down our change (ususally like $3 - $5)...so its not too much but still an ok amt.

to be honest it all depends on quality of service from my point of view.

It all depends on quality of service. Don't think I've ever tipped at a hotel. Restaurants it really depends on service, considering i'm an exceptionally poor university student.

i always give at least 10%, and that's if the service is really bad. normally it's 15, and 20-25 for an excellent job.

I'm a HORRIBLE tipper.

If I really like the food and service, I tip 25%.

If I like the food and hate the waiter, I don't give them anything. It's their fault they chose to be a waiter. And if they're rude....oooo.....they get NOTHING I SAY!

If it's a bad waitress or waiter, i tip in the few cents range.... 53 cents is a good one.. it's something for them and it's an insult. I've done that a couple times.. .my gf and I have a standing joke when we go out now... because of that

I'm a waitress, and you have to remember that usually that money also goes back to the bus boys and dish washer.

Of the tips I make, I usually leave 10% of it to the busboys/dishwashers. So you may not like the waiter/waitress but remember the other people too!
I'm under no illusion

As to what I meant to you

yeah sometimes tips are included in the bill ...

so they ask "do you want the tip included in the bill?"

becuase if you don't leave a "good" tip (10%+) then they will just include it next time you come in...like they will just put an automatic 10%+ on rather then ask you

does that make sence?

Beuca ei know ALOT of places that are just doing it included instead of you leaving one

well there are people that don't like to tip but you have to know this...waitresses/waiters get paid squat!! they live off of tips...they are lucky if they get $1.50 an hour!! So they live off of tips...so if you decide not to tip they spent that time on you and get - if they are lucky - $1.50 for the hour (usually your at a resurante for an hour)...

so they live off of tips...

I dunno...there are people taht don't like to tip because "food is soo exspecive so why should i tip...its my hard earned money" but its the nice thing do to so that way the people serving you will have some money too...
