im in econ and were doing this now

if you are going to invest make sure oyu have all your credit-card depts paid off 1st!! (major!!)

w/ those companies they are "low risk" meaning your money will be there but you won't make too much becuase they are expensive stocks to begin w/...

but to get a pvt. broker would be more expensive...

just call your local bank and talk to them about it...

good luck!

no its just that the 1st thing you need to do is not have credit-card debt cuz of the interest...

starting out its best to get into companies that are "low risk" and when you have money that you won't miss if you looose it you want "high risk" stock that are start out companies where you can get alot of cash or loose it all...

but when investing ONLY INVEST MONEY THAT IS EXTRA...

you take your pay check and subtract 10% and put it in the bank...subtract all dept costs...subtract enough cash for all expenses (food, clothing, etc) and then the money left over that if you loose it - it won't hurt you too bad then that is the money you invest...

does that make sence?

Just from that, i'm going to say that it's not a great idea. If you are, go for penny stocks, nothing huge, you don't want to wipe out your entire savings in an afternoon.

Whoever you pick make sure you do research on them so that you know who you are giving your money to. Going through a well known broker would cost more but be better if you are just starting out.
You called yesterday to basically say

That you care for me but that you're just not in love

Immediately I pretended to be feeling similarly

And led you to believe I was O.K.

To just walk away from the one thing

That's unyielding and sacred to me

Well I guess I'm trying to be nonchalant about it

And I'm going to extremes to prove I'm fine without you

But in reality I'm slowly losing my my mind

Underneath the guise of a smile gradually I'm dying inside

Friends ask me how I feel and I lie convincingly

'Cause I don't want to reveal the fact that I'm suffering

So I wear my disguise 'til I go home at night

And turn down all the lights and then break down and cry

So what do you do when somebody you're devoted to

Suddenly just stops loving you and it seems they haven't got a clue

Of the pain that rejection is putting you through

Do you cling to your pride and sing "I will survive"

Do you lash out and say "How dare you leave this way"

Do you hold on in vain as they just slip away

Hey.

Please, listen to me.

Do NOT invest in the stock market. If you do...you're taking an emormous risk, especially at the rate our economy is dropping currently.

If you want to make a safe and secure investment in which you're guarenteed money, invest in real estate. My parents are both real estate brokers, and although it may take a while to gain money, it will be the best investment you'll have ever made if you make the right decisions regarding where you place your money. I plan on investing in real estate immediately when I get out of high school.

I don't know how old you are, or whether or not you ahve enough money to do it...but please, consider it.

Cheers,

Jenna

Jenna - doll i love you but take a look at the stock market...

yeah its still not as strong as it was but it is coming back...on avergae the DOWJONES and NASDEQ are on an increase which means that for the most part stocks are doing good...

no matter where you go some stocks are going to go down and some up...

yes the stock market isn't in the best shape but it is increasing and its best to get in when prices are lower, ya know?

and IF YOU HAVE THE MONEY THAT YOU WON'T MISS IF YOU DON'T DO WELL - THEN INVEST IT!!

~Jeff~

P.S. There are other ways to invest money w/o the stock market...such as real-estate, bonds, CDs, collectables (higher risk then the stock market), etc...

Well, if you are looking for a way to invest money without a risk of loosing it I would invest in bonds. Those double after 7 years (yeah, I know 7 years is long but the money is doubled). The government has to pay you it no matter what though.

My dad is an Investment Advisor with CIBC WoodGundy and his advice to me is that I take 10% off the Gross earnings and put them into mutual funds - Low risk and I have 1 or 2 mutual funds that are medium risk (but that's me). He says that RIGHT NOW THE MARKET IS LIKE SEARS ON SALE. But you have to realize. It will take 3-7 years to have the market turn around, but trust me, it will be better, and the market now IS really on sale.

I would not suggest the Stocks route - relying too much on 1 stock will give way too much risk. Mutual funds cover multiple stocks in a certain way. However the 1 or 2 stocks I would really go for is the Oil Companies such as Suncor. Over the next 5-10 years, these companies will most likely give back very nice dividends (they already pay my gas prices 2X per year... and i have a gas guzzler, but then agian, i have a lot of money in my mutual funds that have parts invested in Suncor).

But stocks are unpredictable.

If you want something that's TOTALLY RELIABLE, invest in real estate.

From the records:

if you leave your money in the stock market for a MINIMUM of 5 years then you will come out on top...

If you get scared and pull out of it when it geos down - then that is when you loose...

yes its risky and yes there is a good chance that you will loose money - it just depends on what company, the elasticity, and all that crap...

but there are risks in real estate too

But not as many. :P Especially not if you work out everything alright and have everything checked out.

If you do that, it's like...basically gonna get you money. :)

At least someone is thinking around here.

No matter how good you think the stock market is AIM, it's really not. It's a huge risk and you're never guaranteed anything.
