I have 1 poem here and I need you opinion on what the poems means. Please help me!



What Does The Poem Mean To You!



There are

No clocks on the wall,

And no time,

No shadows that move

From dawn to dusk

Across the floor.



There is neither light

Nor dark

Outside the door.



There is no door!

Emptyness. Lost in a box. Anxiety. Since there's basically plain walls and no door, it represents a box filled with anxiety, to me.

First thing that popped into my head was panic.

About the only thing that I can get out of that is lost. Lost track of time, lost their way, lost their meaning to live, like an empty void.

The best thing I ever learnt about interpreting poems is to state what you think and back it up clearly.



Eg: "There is no door!" - Signifies feeling trapped etc.



Give evidence to prove your point, and away you go. There is never a right or wrong - each person interprets things differently.



I'm tired, sorry if this didn't make sense.

Being trapped (perhaps more emotionally than anything else) by something larger - something you cannot control.

I thought of loss of control and loss of meaning of time etc. Stuff to do with anxiety, depression etc.

The exclamation with 'There is no door!' sounds like anxiety, and like it has just made them realise that there is'nt a door at all as they mention something being outside the door and then they realise that there is no door.



The stuff about no clocks on the wall, no time, no shadows etc give me the impression that there is no sense of time and for some reason, that with me gives me the impression of depression.lol.



Whenever you make a point hun, always give evidence to back it up, like a quote from the poem. I hope I've helped somehow hun.
