Quick Help With Definition

I looked Allusion up on dictionary.com, but I didn't understand the definition.....can anyone elaborate on what this means ASAP? I need to make a poster on it, and I knida don't want to wait until the last minute....

A. The act of alluding; indirect reference: Without naming names, the candidate criticized the national leaders by allusion.

B. An instance of indirect reference: an allusion to classical mythology in a poem. See Usage Note at allude.



Guessing this is the deffinition that you got. Allusion is imagining something that may or may not be there. That's the best I would know to make it easier to understand it - then again, I'm on mega doses of meds. so, I hope this works.
