It was almost exactly an hour ago that this happened. I'm on a college campus walking back from a track meeting, more or less to give my fraternity brother moral support. He left before I did because I ran into someone I knew so I stayed back and talked to him. Mind you, it's dark here but the campus is fairly lit up. However, the quickest path is always through darkness, and I'm a freshie, young and dumb. I decided to take that dark path and I ran into someone. He was large tall, and I'm pretty sure he was stoned. Afer he tried to get my attention a few times, and I ignored him, he lunged at me, and grabbed my ankles. He took my slip on sandles off and threw them in the nearby pond. Yes we have a pond on campus. During this throwing of my sandles, I rolled away into the darkness unoticed. After he realized I was gone, he staggered off the other way looking for me.
My question is, during all this, I was angry. I was down right pissed off at the guy for attacking me knowing he was doing it not because he was himself. Yet I kept it in my right mind not to fight back. When I called my Mom, of course she was worried, but she asked if I was scared, and I honestly had to say no. Is this common? I've never thought myself to be an angry person, but it worries me from the aspect that if I get very angry like that that quickly, what was it all about? Any guesses?
Dazed and confused.........

I guess it's just you were shocked that someone would actually do something like that and it made you mad and disgusted at him.
Everyone reacts to traumas differently, I wouldn't worry about it.
Have you reported it or anything?

I did report it, but what was there to report other than there might be some big white guy that likes to hang out in this area to get stoned, drunk, or something of that nature. I told the campus police of the area and what happened and they said they'd keep a watch out for that area, but there isn't much more that can be done other than that. I wasn't hurt or anything so no harm done to me. Just learn from it.

Well it's good that you reported it anyway. Maybe they'll tighten up security for awhile. I hope nothing like this happens to you again.
Take care.
