I'd say you should bring someone with you (like your dad or a guy friend or a mechanic or something) who knows about cars. And then if you have a car you really like, make sure you get it inspected before you actually buy it.

Get everything checked out, (including the car and the person or company selling it to you) look at previous history and quality, etc.

Theres actually a lot of sense in that, besides the fact that you would get killed by the 'friend' when they find out they are being used.

make sure the spare tire they give you with it actually has a rim that fits your car or else you end up like me - with a flat tire and no new tire to put on it caz you got screwed over by the last guy grrrrrr
