a mod who isnt known doesnt do thier job
Not necessarily. I believe I have been doing my job for the time that I'm alotted online. For the longest while, i couldnt' even get access to this site and came on whenever I could. But I don't make a big deal of it, and I don't make posts in the staff forum saying how sorry I am for being gone for a certain period of time. I just get back in here and start doing what I have done from the start... offer what advice I can (and trying to tidy things up around the site). Apparently I haven't been noticed for "doing my job" but I'd rather have it that way. Believe me, you'll all get sucked into this site and you'll never get out. You'll be incorporated with all the drama (like the current Sex forum issue) and anything else that comes up. I try to manage the time I spend on here, and away from here. Trust me, you need to do that. If you don't, you're going to have more problems in your head than you did when you first came here looking for help. I personally like to stay away from all the politics and drama that goes on here. If you've been here long enough, which most of you here haven't been, you know what this is like.
I dont' know anymore... it gets tiresome all this drama about supermods and mods and what's going on in the forums. It's endless. My recommendation for everyone... see professionals for your help and support groups with people to talk to in person, and a supervisor. It's possible it's just better than this.[/b]
I agree. When I was all addicted to teenhelp it really did make my problems worse. My cutting wouldn't have been so bad if I wasn't constantly in an environment where it was "normal." Everyone doesn't have to spend half of their time here to be a good mod/supermod, it's not posting that makes mods good, it's how they handle problems in the forum. Anyone can help, so don't focus on how many posts mods have, focus on if their forums are wellkept and if they're respectful to members. <3

I understand what you're saying. My point in saying that is simply this. We're all amatures here. No one is a professional. All anyone here can do is provide their personal opinion from either experience or inference. Half the people who come here and receive help will never respond or let you know that the information provided was helpful.
I'm an optimist, so I like to take the chance that i can help someone out through typing out a little message to someone. But it's hard to be effective through a computer where there is constant miscommunication and interpretation. I'm willing to help those who want it, and it is possible for me to help them... but I think more likely seeking professional help, with people who know more about the human psyche than any of us do is far more effective. People offer advice from what they know and have experienced... teens have only a minimal amount of years in their lives, adults have many more + the education specifically to help them help others. See the difference? But those are just my thoughts about teens seeking their advice here and with professionals.
Fruitloop has said that they can't receive professional help... this is an easy alternative. I just think the better alternative might be for someone to seek out those who know a bit more than us naive teens do.
GREAT!!! Im glad we understand each other....but i kno from experience...the lil messages that we type really can help ppl sometimes when they don't think there is any help at all....and even tho it may jus make them happy for a while, it's still happiness and it does mean alot......but im glad u think the way u do
because professionals have been taught more than we have...they really can help more. I want to be a psychiatrist..haha misspelled that.....because i want to learn how to really be able to help people.
Love,
CrimsonKiss

whereisfred i love the dog in ur signature... mods and supermods are going to have times in life where they can't be here as often but as long as they give a pretty good effort overall i think it's ok.
