Familiar W/ Nyc?/

Post by SirPostAlot »

I have a question - i am currently a freshman in college, and i know my future dwelling is far away, but i am going to live in NYC but i have NO idea which areas to avoid...

iwant a safe area - though i know that means i have to pay extra money...

i don't care if i live in 5x5 room as long as its in a safe neighbourhood...

as for location to work, i can always take the subway (i took it last time i was in NYC and it was sorta scary, but sorta exhilerating, haha)

What about the area of Far Rockaway, Jamaica, or Howard Beach???

they are in Queens County ~ isn't that a very safe county??

Jeff,

Queens/Brooklyn (aka the outlying areas) usually come up in the news here more often in connections with shootings, etc., etc. If I were you, I'd live in Manhattan - it tends to be a bit safer (due to the make up of the populus).

Manhattan is going to cost alot of money, being so densely populated.

yeah manhattan is pretty expensive, but nice...

hmm, i'll just have to browse around...

i know that some areas in queens and brooklynn are good, but you have to know which ones...

Bronx is the place to avoid (from what i see on the news)

hmm, thanks you two!

i just hope that i can find a cute little apt/condo that is in a safe area :)

but i love doing research, so this will be fun!
