Quotes
Hi there
I'm not entirely sure if this is the right place to post this, or if it is even a forum question at all, but here goes.
Is there anywhere I can see a list of the quotes that are at the top of the page when I first go to HT.org, before I click groups etc.
Thanks for reading
M

If the towers wobbly at the base, dont keep climbing... nut it! If it falls over, then you have to rebuild it, if not your good to go on climbing!
You never only cross my mind
You always come and stay awhile...
Long enough to lift my spirits
Warm my heart
And make me smile.

Re: Quotes
No, it's a well put together list of meaningful quotes that we have hidden so that people can't just take all of them in one stroke. You can sit and refresh the page a few hundred times, but the list is hidden and inaccessible except to the code in the page.
If you'd like to add some, please just submit them through the feedback form.

Re: Quotes
I thought that would be the answer.
Well, Adam, at least you know they're great quotes. LOL.

It has not been updated for about 3 months, but I usually add quotes quite often.

Re: Quotes
technically, couldn't we just view the source and read the quotes? Not that I want to(spoiling the surprise and all..) but if you say it's hidden in the coding, is that what you mean?

It's a normal text file, yes, but I gave it an unused file extension and told the Apache web server to deny access to any file by that file type. Plus, the quote is parsed by the PHP module in Apache, so all you see is the outputted text, not the source file, unless there is an error and it can't find the file or something. Now that you're asking about it I am not even sure why I went to such lengths to protect the darn file, but I did, and it was a fun geek indulgence to figure it out.

Re: Quotes
a little posesive skye?
Why give up, why give in?
It's not enough, it never is.
So I will go on until the end.
We've become desolate.
It's not enough, it never is.
But I will go on until the end.
I've lost my way.
I've lost my way, but I will go on until the end.
Living is hard enough
Without you fucking up.
Until The End - Breaking Benjamin

No, I just geeked out I guess. I mean nobody wants someone to just walk up and steal their list of quotations and use it somewhere else on the internet when you took the time yourself to go find all these cool quotes, and still do add to the list. Eh, oh well.

"The state must declare the child to be the most precious treasure of the people. As long as the government is perceived as working for the benefit of the children, the people will happily endure almost any curtailment of liberty and almost any deprivation."
-- Adolf Hitler, Mein Kampf, P. 403
I added that to the list today.
