Re: Mental Health Days
If I had been allowed to take mental health days when I was in school, I would have probably never turned up!!
You need to speak to a psychiatrist or your school. Perhaps half-days could be arranged, to wean you back into the lesson timetable again gradually.

Re: Mental Health Days
i'm taking one of those right now! and i am totally aware that it is a bad bad bad idea because i have tooooo many projects and ISU's going on, but i just couldn't be bothered getting out of bed. i was thinking about going to fifth period tho (the last of the day) just so i don't feel as guilty.
i think what WE should do is just suck it up, face the last month and 1/2 of school and enjoy a mentally healthy summer vacation. i think that's what i'm gonna try and do anyway. i am literally counting the days until highschool is over (this is my last year!)

The Laws of God, the laws of man,
He may keep that will and can;
Not I: let God and man decree
Laws for themselves and not for me;
And if my ways are not as theirs
Let them mind their own affairs.
Their deeds I judge and much condemn
Yet when did I make laws for them?
Please yourselves, say I, and they
Need only look the other way.
But no, they will not; they must still
Wrest their neighbour to their will.

Re: Mental Health Days
Good advice theebee, I ended up becoming semi-agrophobic because of all the time which I took off school :/
Once you come out, it's VERY hard to get back in again.

Re: Mental Health Days
I'm thinking of taking one around memorial day weekend. Maybe sooner, depending on how I'm seated in jazz band, how stuff goes with the ex, if I get back into things with friends, all that stuff. Meh. Maybe next Monday.
But yeah, as for your problem: I recommend calling friends to see what all you've missed, and then just get back in and start making it up: that sudden decisiveness is the only way you're gonna get through it. Just pull your way through the last month or so--you're almost there.

"There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven: a time to be born and a time to die, time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain, a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace."
