What Was The Saddest Movie Youve Seen?

Post by Jack_Treese »

Alright. Seeing as there's topics on Sad and meaningful songs, how about a topic on sad and meaningful movies?

Here are some sad/meaningful movies that I've seen.

Man on the Moon (I've seen this one at least 50 times and I still cry)

Good Will Hunting

Saving Private Ryan

The Green Mile

Pearl Harbor

Training Day
"You are my friends, and the greatest love a person can have for his friends is to give his life for them." -Jim Caviezel in The Passion of the Christ.

Jesus: God, why have you forsaken me?

(Jesus looks down upon Mary, Magdalene, and James)

Jesus: It is accomplished.

With the except of Saving Private Ryan and Green Mile the movies you listed are nothing but typical boring Hollywood pish. The Green Mile is far too long and is extraodinarily boring in parts but is nevertheless a good movie. Saving Private Ryan is pretty good but not exactly sad, unless you're a five year old.

L?on is the only film that I've seen on more than a few occasions that chokes me up.

That's fortunate then because there's not much point in starting a topic asking for people's opinions if you're not going to respect them, is there?

What's the deep meaning in Green Mile? Don't break the law or you'll get fried?

Kids

Requiem for a Dream

Clockwork Orange

Blow

Fight Club- It's not really a sad movie, but there is a deeper meaning in that movie then in a lot of the crap that comes out these days.

Stephen King wrote the book and then Hollywood made it into a movie.

Then again, Stephen King wrote "Boogey Man", "It", and "Pet Cemetary". So I doubt that it had any serious 'meaning'.

Life Is Beautiful.

Its about the Holocaust. I cried at the end. :'(
And all the roads we have to walk along are winding

And all the lights that lead us there are blinding

There are many things that I would

Like to say to you

I don't know how

Because maybe

You're gonna be the one who saves me?

And after all

You're my wonderwall

Pearl Harbor (Saddest movie I've ever seen.)

Dying Young (Very sad!)

Titanic (duh...but I hate that movie)

The English Patient

Schindler's List

I Am Sam

Snow Falling On Cedars (Not that good of a movie, but sad. And hey, Ethan Hawke is HOT!)

Forest Gump
Whatever our failings may be, we need not lower our eyes in the presence of Jesus...Jesus comes not for the super-spiritual but for the wobbly and the weak-kneed who know they don't have it all together, and who are not too proud to accept the handout of amazing grace. As we glance up, we are astonished to find the eyes of Jesus open with wonder, deep with understanding, and gentle with compassion.
