does anyone know where i can get a free chatroom that has its own page (ie. msn groups dont count) that can have hosts that can ban? PLEASE reply if you know of any. i need one for a website.

I am sorry to inform you that to my knowledge that only way you can have a website chatroom that you can ban people in is to get a program like J-Piolt and install it into your website. any remotely hosted free chatroom will be run by the company hosting it, and you will not be able to ban people, as you will not have OP access. What FiZzBaW said is pretty much all that you can do, asside from JPilot part. There are lots of JPilot clones and/or alternatives. Some are free, some aren't free. JPilot is free to use with the JPilot logo there, but it requires registered copy to do what we did for our copy of JPilot. All of the chatroom solutions I know about require you to have a channel on some sort of external IRC server. The jPilot thing FiZzBaW speaks of is what TeenHelp.org uses and it's extremely customizable, however, as I said, it requires you to have a channel on an IRC server somewhere.



You can always setup JPilot and then register a channel on an IRC server like GamesNet or some other real large IRC network. There are hundreds of IRC networks to choose from, so you should have almost no trouble at all getting a channel registered. You can even host it on irc.teenhelp.org if you register the channel. But, I don't know Adam's policy on that, if there is any such policy. What FiZzBaW said about your "banning ability" is somewhat true, however, you'll have the ability to block people from your channel. But, you won't be able to k-line people like we can do on the TeenHelp.org IRC server. That requires a whole new level of access that you simply won't get on a public IRC network like GamesNet.

InvisionFree provides a hosted, stripped down version of InvisionBoard. I don't think they provide FTP access, in fact it'd be to their advantage to not provide FTP access. With FTP access people could remove their coded addins that place the banner ads on the forums. They also require special skins. You can't use standard IPB skins. If you try or already have tried, you'll find errors everywhere.



Sorry, what you want simply cannot be done with InvisionFree.
