Canadian Pm

Post by ToraToraTora »

So, if anyone here actually follows Canadian politics, what do you think of the new prome minister? Personally, I think hes an arrogant dick (I've met him), but will do a slightly better job than chretien.

Sadly, Since my beloved PC party has been dissolved, i'll have to support the C-Party now. Oh well.

I'm worried that he won't have the balls to stand up to the US like Chretien did.
Democracy. It rolls off the tongue nicely. Better than others. I can say it, spell it, define it, but can?t admit to ever believing it. So convoluted has it become that it has mesmerized generations into a comma of perfect sublimity. You dance to the music of your youth, identify with your own memory, become a time capsule of numb comfort. And there, mired in the exhaustion of a life in progress, you surrender your right to question for the luxury of not being bothered.

That's ok, with Canada's military so underfunded its threatened with annihilation and the mounting costs of your socialist health system, STAND PROUD CHRETIEN!

Last time I checked, we weren't being threatened by any foreign nations.

And what the devil does our health care have to do with America?

Nothing, just showing the reasons why Chretien should "have the balls to stand up to the US."

Not UN-sanctioned. And since US is still part of the UN, it was illegal.

The UN would have more claim to 'policing the world' than any one nation. The UN at least makes an attempt at allowing countries to be fairly represented. Granted, I think the UN is overdue for some reform, but I don't think we should be totally discrediting it yet.

The whole problem with the UN is that it thinks multilaterialism should superseed individual national soveignty.

The problem is this -- I take no offense when France makes a decision that puts French citizens before US people. Just don't get shocked when the US does the same thing.

Yes, our military is underfunded, but its still one of the best for the size and funding.

And theres not too much wrong with our health care. At least we dont have to take out a second mortgage when we need to use it.

Just because I don't like the US government and its policies doesn't mean I'm arrogant.

The reason I say 'stand up' to the US is because they've been bullying and bribing other nations to do what they want for a while now.
