Re: Sadam Captured
What do Moore's political views have to do with the letters from the soldiers? His website is one of the few places where they can send their negative thoughts without fear of retribution. You think if they sent those same letters to Bush we'd ever hear about it?
Once again, instead of 'betting' that the vast majority of troop feedback is positive, why don't you prove it to me.

Democracy. It rolls off the tongue nicely. Better than others. I can say it, spell it, define it, but can?t admit to ever believing it. So convoluted has it become that it has mesmerized generations into a comma of perfect sublimity. You dance to the music of your youth, identify with your own memory, become a time capsule of numb comfort. And there, mired in the exhaustion of a life in progress, you surrender your right to question for the luxury of not being bothered.

Once again, I ask for you to provide evidence to back up your claim. Otherwise, I can't take you seriously.
As for Moore, you certainly have a scewed impression of him. Have you actually read any of his books?
And it sounds like you're making up facts again:

Also, notice that he is booed out of everyplace he goes now.

Most of his public appearances are sold out. And I have not seen or heard of one that he was 'booed out' of.

Yes, and even if he was booed at, that totally discredits him and his arguments, right?

Re: Sadam Captured
Well this debate got off track. broken4ubyu- Rather then debate the popularity of Michael Moore, can we stick to the topic at hand?

Re: Sadam Captured
oh yes, michael moors website. What an unbiased source of information. lol the military IS overwhelmingly pro bush. how does a few anti bush letters disprove this? And the people that signed up for the military signed an agreement that they would go to war if they were needed. What is unclear about that. you dont sign up for the military thinking "oh, ill just do this to be patriotic. there wont be a war" thats just plain moronic
1st I would like to ask for proof about this "pro-bush" thing. Second, yes, most signed up for the military, but it seems u don't know how the military works, some of those people signed up before 9-11, and was sent to Afghanistan and Iraq, many didn't want to go, but they would be going AWOL if they didn't, which is against the law, so they had no choice. Third, I would like to thank four for editing those rude remarks against me. Fourth, it really isn't right for you to make being liberal a bad thing. Many of us have (well, maybe not many, but I know I have) seen the down points of bush's actions. A lot of people are unemployed, and the unemployment rate seems to be getting higher. Also, many people have to go bankrupt because, since they have no job, they can't afford their bills. So I would apreacate it if we could stick to the debate, and stop being rude, broken4ubyu. This is a simple debate to see how everyone stands, if someone isn't standing on your side, that is no reason to be rude.

I know, I'm just mal tempered because about half my family is in the war, all signed up before 9-11, and all against bush. 1 went AWOL and I think he is in Switzerland. I'm really scared, how would u feel if half your family was away, being killed in a war no one in your family didn't agree with?

Well, that makes us different. I am upset that they had to risk their lives for a reason that is no big deal. I mean, there wasn't anything there!

Re: Sadam Captured
A relative of Syrian President Bashar Assad is hiding Iraqi weapons of mass destruction in three locations in Syria, according to intelligence sources cited by an exiled opposition party.
The weapons were smuggled in large wooden crates and barrels by Zu Alhema al-Shaleesh, known for moving arms into Iraq in violation of U.N. resolutions and for sending recruits to fight coalition forces, said the U.S.-based Reform Party of Syria.
Ohh okay. So, according to a US-BASED opposition party in exile, there are WMD's in Syria. That's a pretty credible source, alright.

Dude, I used Michaels Moores site to showcase the actual letters from troops. I was trying to show what their (the troops) opinions were. That was completely different.
You provided a news article that states Syria has Iraqi WMD's. And the proof? Only the word of a reform party based in the US. Kinda shaky, if you ask me.

They weren't 'collected' they were sent to Moore, and with their permission, he posted them. Just because it's only a few letters does not mean we can discount them altogether.
Additionally, I can find numerous news reports detailing the falling morale of troops.
I can find more, if you want.
Additionally, I can find numerous news reports detailing the falling morale of troops.
BBC - The US army is introducing a series of measures to prevent soldiers serving in Iraq, Kuwait and Afghanistan from leaving the service.
Those who were planning to retire or leave in the next few months will now have to remain with their unit.
Soldiers whose terms of enlistment have expired will be offered up to $10,000 to serve another three years.
An army spokesman said the moves were designed to maintain cohesion and combat effectiveness.
BBC Pentagon correspondent Nick Childs says it is another sign of the strain the US army is under because of the operation in Iraq.
The Pentagon's top general expressed concern on Thursday over a survey suggesting major morale problems among the 130,000 U.S. troops in Iraq, saying he was sometimes allowed to talk only to "happy" troops.
Air Force Gen. Richard Myers, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, told reporters he was personally worried that when he and other top officers visited troops, they were only allowed to talk to "all the happy folks."
"I want to see the folks that have complaints. And sometimes they won't let them near me," Myers said when pressed about the Stars and Stripes newspaper survey in which half of 1,939 troops responding said morale in their unit was low or very low and that they did not plan to reenlist in the military.
The newspaper, which receives funding from the Pentagon, also said that a third of the survey respondents complained that their mission lacked clear definition and characterized the war in Iraq as of little or no value.
