Britney Spears
I'm a pro musician, and she and her popping glitter compatriots drive me fucking crazy, the money they make that they don't deserve......but anyway, she has this new album out, and everywhere I go, it's on sale really cheap. Is anybody buying her stuff anymore? Because if not, I have a party to plan!
I love Alanis Morissette, The White Stripes, Sheryl Crow, The Beatles, Fiona Apple, Tori Amos, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Bjork, U2, and so many others that influence my music. Write if you are interested.

Re: Britney Spears
O.o You can't change anything. Ranting won't help anyone. Except maybe relieve that stress that you get, because you can't get a job as a musician. And that you don't sell as many CDs as her. Etc, etc..

Gee, thank you for being so presumptuous. Maybe YOU shouldn't be so bitter. What, did you lose a chance to play guitar like big people do, and now you're mad or something? I make money as a musician, thank you very much, and I am now recording my first album with the biggest-selling indie artist in Border's CD racks nationwide. So live with the fact that I am a successful artist. God, I hate it when people think that I call myself a musician because I can play guitar and I think rock stardom is cool, like some little Michelle-Branch wannabe with glittery stars in her eyes. I am a serious musician.

Re: Britney Spears
Right...and again. What point are we making?
No, I don't like her but I'm not such a great singer. I do have to admit that she has a better voice than me.

She doesn't have a good voice at all. . .
I never liked her in response to "does anyone still like her?"

Re: Britney Spears
she has a strong voice and she can perfectly control it.. maybe you don't like the sound of her voice, but she can sing - it's clear..Originally posted by itsme@Jan 15 2004, 07:09 PM

She has what a good singer needs. Nice body, great voice. Now she just needs to shoot her lyrics writer and find a new one. R&B isn't the way to go.

Re: Britney Spears
**hangs head** I have her new album...I bought it the day it came out. Her music just makes me feel good, and a lot of singers don't sing live.
Well I'm caught between myself and me
And I can't find the bridge from my mind to reality
I'm trying to find a place in the sun
But I'm drowning in the rain that's falling
Every place I go

Re: Britney Spears
Of course she deserves it. Just because she's pop and doesn't wield an electric guitar, doesn't mean she hasn't worked her ASS off to get to where she is now. I respect her.Originally posted by love_in_a_box+Jan 16 2004, 03:11 AM--<table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'<tr<tdQUOTE (love_in_a_box @ Jan 16 2004, 03:11 AM)</td</tr<tr<td id='QUOTE'<!--QuoteBegin-The Sage Nabooru@Jan 15 2004, 05:08 AM

And all you saying she can't sing - can we say bullshit? I've heard her sing live, she has a decent voice.[/b][/quote]
That's because she was lip-synching. You think she had to work hard for her career? Do you know what it's like for small unknown bands trying to get their songs out, but are unwilling to 'sell out' their art in order to do so?
Yes, Brittney did 'work' for her money, but she has no more talent than the hundreds of talented singers out there, and those artists that actually write their own lyrics, compose their own songs, and actually PERFORM when they are on stage. She isn't anything special. She's a mass-produced entertainer with about as much artistic value as feces.
Democracy. It rolls off the tongue nicely. Better than others. I can say it, spell it, define it, but can?t admit to ever believing it. So convoluted has it become that it has mesmerized generations into a comma of perfect sublimity. You dance to the music of your youth, identify with your own memory, become a time capsule of numb comfort. And there, mired in the exhaustion of a life in progress, you surrender your right to question for the luxury of not being bothered.
