Oscars

Post by hmmm »

I was wondering what every1's opinions are about the oscars. I mean, I personally think they are the most false and pretentious celebration of over paid celebrities. i also think that they are way too obvious and concentrate more on what the idiot public thinks then true talent. I mean - russel crowe winning best actor for gladiator???

Was it just me or was Bill Murray seriously pissed off he didn't win? You could tell that was like eating at him.

You are exactly right, and it's the same thing with the Grammies, and the MTV Awards. It's all about where the money is - that's all. I mean, Renee Zellweger winning Best Supporting Actress? I've seen after-school specials with better actresses than her. But she sells, so she wins.
I love Alanis Morissette, The White Stripes, Sheryl Crow, The Beatles, Fiona Apple, Tori Amos, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Bjork, U2, and so many others that influence my music. Write if you are interested.

Have you SEEN Cold Mountain?? That movie kicked butt and it wouldn't be anything without Renee (and Jude, of course). I think she deserved it a lot
Whatever our failings may be, we need not lower our eyes in the presence of Jesus...Jesus comes not for the super-spiritual but for the wobbly and the weak-kneed who know they don't have it all together, and who are not too proud to accept the handout of amazing grace. As we glance up, we are astonished to find the eyes of Jesus open with wonder, deep with understanding, and gentle with compassion.

she's a good actress, but her face annoys me. It always looks like she's about to cry.

Yawn. Get your own opinion and stop peddling this tired individualism bollocks.

Charlize Theron was amusing. By amusing I mean killing spree inducive.

i dont really like the awards shows cuz i think they try so hard to make them into more than they really are...ok, they are for giving actors awards, they dont have some deep meaning behind them like they try to make it seem
