Women's Pro-choice March In Washington

Post by spatulaoflove »

I was there. It was amazing. For anyone else that went GO YOU!... it was really liberating. ONe thing i'm really upset at though is that CNN said more than 300,000 people marched, but in truth they are saying it was the largest march in U.S history around 1.4 million people.

A few signs i liked there were

Bush get out of my bush

The only bush i trust is my own

Bush is like my Tampon, he needs to be changed.

Anyways just hoping people realize Bush is trying to get rid of Abortion. We can't let that happen. Even if you are against it, others aren't, and they should be able to decide. And if it is illegal, it's going to cause 1,000's of women to die caused to illgal or home abortion.

Don't let this reactionary plan becomea reality

You were there? Oh, thank god! We need more people like you!

I saw a pic of it in the paper, and I was like, "I'm gonna do that with gay marriage in a couple years!"

YAY! I hope that march made a statement!

Cheers,

I say that it's good. I agree with it, and I think that even those that dont should respect the right to choose. Abortions have always happened, and if they arent allowed, people are just going to die.

Im pro-choice but i still support Bush. There are more important issues than abortion in this election.

The whole arrangement's designed for men who, at some time or other in their lives, were looking for something their own environment couldn't supply them with. Go Bush. We need more people like him - I hope he does outlaw abortions...it's about damn time.

If you're not mature enough to raise a child you're not mature enough to have sex. In my opinion, unless you're raped, if you get pregnant it's your responsibility. Don't look for the easy, rapacious way out. Women need to grow up, stop crying about the poor "inconvinience" of an "unwanted" child growing inside them, and not run for the abortion clinic.
Whatever our failings may be, we need not lower our eyes in the presence of Jesus...Jesus comes not for the super-spiritual but for the wobbly and the weak-kneed who know they don't have it all together, and who are not too proud to accept the handout of amazing grace. As we glance up, we are astonished to find the eyes of Jesus open with wonder, deep with understanding, and gentle with compassion.

What happens when a woman gets raped then if she can't go to an abortion clinic to have the operation done?

I don't suppose you've ever met or discussed this issue with somebody who has tried to give themselves an abortion using a coathanger have you?

Women get pregnant accidently.. some men do things which would make them get pregnant on purpose.. because those men wanted babies.

If we can't give our women the right to choose, where does the repression end?

Abortion is wrong in my opinion but i dont think women shouldnt have that option. its better that doctors preform abortions than women doing it with a coathanger. I belive abortion should be available for people who have been raped or similar situations.

Im very anti-abortion at a personal level, but I dont think that my own beliefs should be applied to anyone but myself. People have different views and we need to respect that. I dont agree with abortions because they are the easy, irresponcible way out, but other people see it differently. Nobody should be able to force me to get an abortion and i shouldnt be able to deny anybody else an abortion. Personal choice is what freedom is about.

Exactly. I'm supporting Bush because Kerry wants to keep the Canada-US border closed to our beef.

And it rightly should be!!

I think its totally okay to get an abortion if you are too young. i mean, why would you want to live your life with a kid when your still living with your parents at like 15y/o or something? you wouldnt want your child to be raised like that. but then again, if you have sex you can raise the troubles that come a long with it.. but come on you wouldnt want your child not having a fair life.. i think abortions should be legal still,i have had friends who have done them, and they are totally okay with it, because if they would have had the kid, they wouldnt have only messed up their life, but the babie's too... noone would want to have a kid when they are too young, raped, or anything like that!.. i hate bush.
