Makes A Clicking Sound
Yeah so about a week ago my computer started making a clicking sound when its loading things. It only seems to happen after my computer is on for a few hours. I don't think anything is slower but uh.... whyyyyy

Its the hard drive. Nothing to worry about really. Mine has been doing it for years, and no data loss yet. Is it an older drive? Older ones tend to do it more than new ones.
Dont worry bout, it will be fine.

It might be your fan, they can get worn out after a while. Shut down your computer once in a while to give it a chance to recover.

I'm going with the hard drive here, I used to happen with my old. If it was the fan then it would do it right off the bat.

Re: Makes A Clicking Sound
If it was a fan you'd hear a really annoying CONSTANT sound because the fan is off balance. The issue is your hard drive and it's probably because it is getting older, but, nothing to worry about. What you are hearing is the hard drive heads seeking to different physical areas of the magnetic discs and then coming back down. If they have to come up and down more often because it's fragmented, it may make more noise and will definitely take longer to load stuff. It could also be the fact that it may have to do extra work because your data is stored in a very fragmented way. The way to fix this would be to run a hard drive defragment. It will take several hours but in the end you'll see a big speed boost opening your homework files or internet explorer, etc...
