Slow Computer?

Slow Computer?
OKay my computer goes sooo slow! I dont know what to do!!?? I have no idea about computers and how to " fix " them? Does anyone know how i can make it faster or would it be a certain problems and i would have to give you information about my computer?? Also my internet always gets interupted so many time but when im at other peoples house the internet rarley gets inturepted and they all have AOL. PLease someone help!!!

lol i know im getting it but i went to the link and it said i dont have any critical updates needed so it said pick another cat for updates so i went to Xp and theres like 16 updates availible but i dont know which one to pick? is there like a certain one? or should i just pick the one that takes the longest?

okay well one of them i couldnt download cause it said i need to be seperate when downloaded... anyways i went to install them and i little window poped up saying connection failed like ya know when you open up a window anyways i hit install again but nothings happening!!!??

lol itsa okay im downloading 16 thing and it says it will take about 5 hours..... wow if i get disconnected from AOL which i will what happens?

if your comp's running slow, it could be that you have too many programmes taking up memory.

I know that this doesn't work for XP - but it does work for Windows 98SE (for those of you still using it).
You can go to a command prompt and then type "msconfig". This will bring up a menu of all of your startup items. Then, look through that list to determine which startup items you really need and then deselect the rest. Once this is done, reboot your computer and it should be noticeably faster.
Another stick of RAM might not hurt either

...... arg!!! I hate my computer!!! I did that thing with updating thing and it said for it to install start your computer well I did and it came back on and pop ups came up and i had no idea what to do?????!!!! Now everytime i start my computer these pop ups come up saying the window couldnt open??? and its goes 5 times!! then it says error???? I went to add or remove programs and removed about 8 programs like Yahoo, real player, mario game?, monoply, and practically anything that didnt say microsoft or dell..... my computer is still slow!!!??also i removed quicktime player and then had to restart my computer and it was back on my desktop??? it installed again???!!! also you know like at the bottom right where like your temperature and volume is well yea i also deleted and removed windows messager and i dont see it on my start menu but its on that bar??!! i have no idea how to get ride of it? someone please help me before i throw this computer....!!!
