Pop-ups

Post by StressedOut »

Ok, so I use AOL as my main browser but I also have IE

I use AOL pop-up controls AND the google toolbar

but if i access certain sites, pop-ups still come up in a seperate IE window

I've contacted AOL and they can't do anything

what can i do?

Google toolbar should take care of all that. hmm... go to google.com and type something in see if there are a bunch of fake stuff in the first few pages. If so its a virus just do a virus scan and get rid of google toolbar. Its NOT the googletoolbar but the virus's can take control of google. I dont know how to explain it but try that.

Good luck,

Firstly, Internet Explorer is a crappy-ass browser. Use Mozilla FireFox (mozilla.org). It has a built in popup blocker :D

You probably have adware too so you need to do something about that.

Try running AVG 6.0 and Spybot Search and Destroy v.1.2. Usually if you use all 3 you catch everything. They're all free...just do a search.
