Well I just saw the movie, and I have to say it didnt really let me down, but it sure as hell left me a couple of questions
why was alice's program never run from the start (meaning she wasnt controlled)?
how come the lickers didn't mutate after feeding just like the first one?
is there gonna be another sequel?

I actually haven't seen RE2 yet, mostly because I was sort of disappointed by the first one. But, good questions I guess. One thing I can answer is that yes, there are plans to make atleast one more sequel, and turn the franchise into YET ANOTHER TRILOGY.
