aaaah I'm quite nervous!I don't know what all states have them..but PA has district bands.. mine is made up of my and 5 or so other districts, and all the schools they encompass. and well, auditions are tomorrow *saturday*!!! eeek.
there's about 150 alto saxes that audition each year. my record thus far?
9th grade-21st
10th grade-4th *i made it in that year*
11th grade-12th
12th grade......I hope I make it!!! oh man they take about 6-8 altos every year, and this is my senior year-- i really want to make it! I played for our band sub the other day, who had judged the alto saxes the one year for districts and he said i should have no problem getting in.. as my teacher also said..as long as i don't blow the audition...
I really want to get in..not to say "oh i'm better than ## people etc" but because its an awesome experience! it lasts for 3 or 4 days. you meet at the school wherever its hosted at, and attempt to find your host family.. thats fun..they never seen u..u've never seen them.. 100+ kids and 100+ parents all looking for each other.. haha. then u stay at your family's house when ur not at the school..but you play for at least 8 hours a day practicing, and perform the concert on the 3rd and 4th days..its such fun! basically all i'm saying is....

Band is my favorite time of day! lol consumes the last half of my day actually.
