Stinkin Sims 2 Game

Post by silvertears » Thu Dec 23, 2004 11:47 pm

Ok, I got the Sims 2 game for Christmas and tried to install it... it installed fine then it sayed that my graphics thing needed to be updated because it dont support the Directx9.oc i think... I went to the site and it sayed that there is only a select few video cards that support it (theres a few types but like a lot of diff versions of em or whatever..)

My question is, where can u get new video cards??? and how hard are they to install n stuff.. I really need help... it broke my heart that i couldnt play it lol i was so excited...

While traveling thru this world of woe

Yet there's no sickness, toil, or danger

In that bright world to which I go

I'm going there to see my Father

I'm going there no more to roam

I'm only going over Jordan

I'm only going over home

I know dark clouds will hang 'round me,

I know my way is rough and steep

Yet beauteous fields lie just before me

Where God's redeemed their virgils keep

I'm going there to see my mother

She said she'd meet me when I come

I'm only going over Jordan

I'm only going over home

I think in order to play the SIMS 2 you have to have a video card that cost like $50-$100.00. Also you have to make sure your processor is up to speed. There is like a min speed it has to be.

I am sure there is a list of all the mins for SIMS 2.

EDIT: wow I am slow. I think you can get them at any place that sells computer things. Like Best Buy, Circut City and those sort of places. I am sure someone there could explain how to install it. I think all you do is put it into your computer though. I am not sure though.
You called yesterday to basically say

That you care for me but that you're just not in love

Immediately I pretended to be feeling similarly

And led you to believe I was O.K.

To just walk away from the one thing

That's unyielding and sacred to me

Well I guess I'm trying to be nonchalant about it

And I'm going to extremes to prove I'm fine without you

But in reality I'm slowly losing my my mind

Underneath the guise of a smile gradually I'm dying inside

Friends ask me how I feel and I lie convincingly

'Cause I don't want to reveal the fact that I'm suffering

So I wear my disguise 'til I go home at night

And turn down all the lights and then break down and cry

So what do you do when somebody you're devoted to

Suddenly just stops loving you and it seems they haven't got a clue

Of the pain that rejection is putting you through

Do you cling to your pride and sing "I will survive"

Do you lash out and say "How dare you leave this way"

Do you hold on in vain as they just slip away

Sims 2 is such a graphics intensive game! My boyfriend has just bought me a new graphics card for christmas, just so I can play computer games on my new computer. Sims 2 might have also been one of the reasons I bought a new computer though..!!

Good luck with getting it working.
NOTE: If you have a non-T&L capable video card, such as Intel Extreme Graphics or Radeon VE series, then you need at least a 2.0 GHz processor.
I play sims 2 with what is said above on my moms pc. it works just fine weve had her pc since 2000 and havnt updated anything on it except the virus scanner/

I'd go for a Geforce series card, they are relieable and work even with many games. But if ur really stuck for a cheap solution, just Overclock ur card or CPU (I am in no way responsible for any damage done to your card by over clocking it, note OC'ing it will violate the warrenty. ) But unless u really kno what ur doin, go with the All in wonder, it a pretty good card, but make sure ur PC has an AGP bus, cuz if it DOn't, Look for a PCI card, they arent as good, but u'll have to settle for one. If ur graphics card is intergrated, than u probably don't have an AGP bus, so u may need to go with the PCI card. For a good PCI, try the Geforce MX 420, or the Geforce 5700
