when you're typing a paper on microsoft word:

before you start, click on the format tab, paragraph, spacing, line spacing then click on the box to change single to double and click ok

or you can double space after you're done typing by highlighting your text and repeating everything above

Shortcut way:

Step 1: Select all the text you want double spaced or if you want all of it, click [Ctrl]+[A]. All text will be highlighted.

Step 2: To double space, while the text is highlighted, click [Ctrl]+[2].

All done!

To single space it, select the text and then click [Ctrl]+[1].
