I am gonna assume you have Windows XP

open up my computer - go to tools menu, Folder Options - view tab

Put a dot in "Show hidden files and folders"

Take the checkmarks out of:

Hide extensions for known file types

Hide protected operating system files (recommended)

Click OK.

Double click on C drive

Double click on Documents and settings

Double click on your username

Double click on Application Data

Find the "Mozilla" folder and DELETE it or rename it to something else.

Open up firefox, and try again.

the Mozilla folder in Application Data is the folder your FireFox profile is under. If there was something wrong with it, renaming it or deleting it will rest FireFox to defaults. If it still does not work, uninstall Firefox, delete the mozilla directory again from the same place, but then also go into C:\program files\ and delete the mozilla directory from there. That will COMPLETELY wipe firefox from your system, and any traces.. Install firefox again and it should work fine.

you have to go first to My computer - either double click it on your desktop, or go to start - My Computer

Then go look for a tools menu
