Guess Who's Been Nicotine-free For Over A Month?
Just wanted to get that out
This is the longest I've gone without, not counting the 15 years before I began -.-
Then again, this is the 6th time I've stopped :/

Re: Guess Who's Been Nicotine-free For Over A Month?
I'm glad : )
For my boyfriend- ha! That's hard for him. He says he "doesn't have any will-power" to do so. But after a conversation last night about how it looks with someone with lung cancer (that quit 5 years before) and how it looks now to suffer from it, I hope he really thinks. Gah- it hurts to keep those images in your head
Congrats for you though!!!

The lack of will power is easily overcome. All you need to do is want it bad enough *shrugs*
There's some excercises he could try that I got out of a book on Chi
Mostly they're meditative, but they increase will power, emotional balance. And it's been proven to relieve stress and help people with conditions such as asthma and bronchitis.
The article I got that information from is coming up, as soon as I find it again, it'll be posted... .<

I could bring that up to him!! I just have to talk to him today to see what his thoughts are on it. He said one time he didn't want to quit, but then again he has said he doesn't like it. Thanks for that! I'll see what he says.

The excercises are really simple as well, most people can understand them (barring those incapable of thought in any form).
I'll post a few later, I don't really feel like searching for that specific book in my stack <_<
*glances at book stack/row/pile of 200+ books*
Maybe I should buy less books...

Haha. I don't mind waiting. I've been talking to him for a while about smoking. I'm not gonna lie, I've done it a few times, but I don't prefer to do it where as I could be addicted.

Hehe... well even if you DID mind, I wouldn't mind having you wait either way.
But if you're interested in more meditational uses, you might want to get a book or two on the subject yourself.
I suggest "Ki in Everyday Life" by Keichi Tohei (I think anyway), that's the book I have as well. Or you could look into books on martial arts or even wicca or tarot. Seeing as how they usually have either visualising meditation or guided meditation in there as well.

Re: Guess Who's Been Nicotine-free For Over A Month?
CONGRATULATIONS Rurouni_ryu!!
Good for you!!
I am trying to quit smoking. [for the zillionth time] It just seems to get tougher and tougher each time. I guess the fact that I've been a smoker since I was 15 years old doesn't help. Smoking is just a part of who I am. I'm now 42 - and it scares me to think of all the TIME [and money] I've invested in something so stupid.
IF you click on THIS you will find out how your body [and your lungs] are improving the longer you remain a non-smoker. Oh sure - the site was written for women - but I'm sure everything applies to us guys - too.
GREAT BIG 'you no longer stink' HUG
Craig!!

Well, both him and I are into the Tarot and Wicca, so that wouldn't be a problem on that part. I just don't think he'd use that. Maybe make excuses.
