Iso - Expanision Pack Question

Post by SirPostAlot »

haha okay so this quesiton is like 6 wks. early, but i figure i will ask now to get it over w/ and give ample time for replies...

so i downloaded an expansion pack for a game and its ISO file, i downloaded the free "ISObuster" program, and all ~ but how exactly do you put the ISO expanison pack intertwinded w/ the other game?

and this is early, so i can't test your answers, b/c i have the CD game at home and won't be able to get it until thanksgiiving break, but i dled two expansion packs w/ ISO..

does anyone know what i mean? haha

iso - cd image

you need the original game if this is an expansion pack.

1 way - burn the iso file to CD, insert cd and install

2 - use WinRAR or isobuster or winimage to extract data and either burn to cd, or run the setup.

3 - use the iso file and load it into Daemon Tools (daemon-tools.cc) and install via virtual CDRom

yeah i figured i would need the orginal game in my computer...

but you are saying that when i put my original game in, then i can use one of those three methods to put the expansion pack on and it should (theoretically) work?

like it will link itself automatically w/ my game?

yes, that's the point of an expansion pack - it correlates and integrates into your current game. best example - the sims 2 and all their expansion packs. It adds to the game.

yeah i know that, i am just worried that since i downloaded it and not actually buy the game that it won't intertwine, like the orginial game i have will recogonize it as an ISO download and not the orginial...

gosh i really wish it was thanksigiving so i could test this...haha

*smells torrents*

Naughty, Naughty. ;)

If you just mount the .iso files using Dameon tools, or PowerISO, you can install if that way, and then just use a No-CD/DVD fixed .exe for running it without the CD in.

IM me if you need any help with it/want a walkthrough. :)

use ISObuster on the 1st expansion pack i dle to 'expand' all of the zipped folders and such

use ISObuster on the 2nd expansion pack ~ same

use ISObuster on the 3rd expansion pack ~ same

put back in the expansion pack CD i have into the drive and press "play" from the last expansion pack "autoplay" section?

Hush you. :kid:

Jeff- that should work. Extract the .iso file from the .zip files, burn the .iso to a CD-RW using ISObuster, pop it in the drive, and there ya go. It should play on its own, but in case it doesnt.. just open the disk in My Computer, and you're good =]

alrighty! :)

so you are saying that i still need to burn one of the games?

so i have a question ~ so the game is the sims 2 (in case i didn't say anything, but adam sorta knew ~ he must remember its the only game i play, haha)

so if i go and buy the pets one (the new release), will i still have to burn the other ones?

or by extracting them, that will be good enough?

If you extract the .iso files, you can mount them to "Virtual drives" which acts like a CD/DVD drive without actually needing a disk. So.. in theory you dont need to burn it.

You should be able to "mount" TheSims2.iso to a virtual drive, open My Computer, and double click the icon for it, where it should auto-play. =]

hmm i am getting frustrated, i have tried everything ~ i mounted it and ran it, but you need the CD crack ~ but in the files it has a "no-cd crack"

so is there a way to find the CD crack in the files on the computer?
