Has anyone been following this?
Whats your feeling on it. Should he have been put down right away?

i saw that...
it was sad, but i feel they did the best thing...he has been in a lot of pain and trying for surgery and stuff...
all of that wishful thinking about being able to make him all better...
i mean horse-racing is a shallow sport, and in regards to the sport - he should have been put down right away...
but as a horse, i think they did the right thing...

well according to the owners they said they saw him in pain so based off of that yes he should've been put down. It would've been hard on barbaro to continue with that pain so I felt they made the right decision

I think they made a gamble on wether or not the surgery would help restore the leg, and.. it didnt. This may have caused him more pain before he died, but.. It has to be tried. Same as you give a cancer patient chemotherapy, and hope it works.
