Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

Post by sweethelp »

I'm really surprised but I actually really liked the movie. I mean of course they cut things out which was expected but it was a lot better than I was expecting. I mean I am a die-hard Harry Potter fan, I mean I have posters in my room, my background is Harry Potter, I took off from work for the book, I have countdowns everywhere, and my dog is named Harry like it's insane. I was expecting the movie to be really bad but it was actually really pretty good. I definitely liked it better than the 3rd and 4th movies. They cut things out without completely interrupting the story line and without making you feel like you were missing big chunks of it all. The only thing that I wish they kept in was the hospital scene and that Kreature was basically the reason for Sirius's death oh and I thought it would have been funny for them to have shown how Hermione had jinxed the DA list. But I saw it in 3D and it was definitely really cool. I love how they did the possession scene, which was absolutely amazing and how they showed how much Harry was haunted by the Cedric's death and so on. It was done really well.

Haha alright I'm done now.

I too was surprised at how good the movie was. I thought that the last two totally sucked because they butchered the story line so much. The third book was my favorite but they ruined the movie. This one though was unbelievable. They kept in as much as they could and you still got the whole line. I too would have liked the hospital scene and to see the swamp that gets created in the great hall. But I thought it was really dark and at times scary. It was a really vicious fight scene at the end. They did a good job and all but it was pretty intense.

Yeah I loved it. In fact I was sitting next to a little kid and he got really scared towards the end. Like he was basically crying and his mom had to rub his arm and had to keep reminding him that it's not real. Which is kind of sad and I wanted to see if he was okay but at the same time the movie is rated PG-13 for a reason. It was pretty intense and kind of scary. But yeah they definitely butchered the last two. The 2nd and 3rd books were my favorite and they butchered the 3rd.

This got me in a Harry Potter mode so I'm even more excited for the book now! lol.

I'm also a die-hard HP fan. He's...like my god. Anyhow, I wasn't happy with the 5th bok at all. I guess the main reason was that I hated that she killed Sirius. I loved the movie though...How they showed Harry being haunted by his memories...was excellent.

Ok, what I loved about the 5th book was Tonks and in the movie they barely showed her! That was upsetting. Other than that though, I LOVED the movie. Great effects. And I loveeeeeee Luna.

I saw it last Friday and loved it. The ending was my favourite part (probably because it was the most meaningful), I think.

i just wanted to pipe in and tell anyone that didn't know that there is a scene that might be somewhat triggering for si. the students are forced to write with quills that inscribe words in their hands, and when it's first shown it's a little graphic.

if you're not prepared for it, it could do some harm.

(i loved the movie, too.)

Like you all, I was very impressed witht his movie! It was so much better than the last ones.

Character-wise, my likes and dislikes:

-Luna was a bit too pretty to be who she was, but she acted great.

-Umbridge was not toadlike enough, but her acting was PERFECT! She was so awesome.

-Bellatrix = HOT! Haha. Sorry. I thought she was perfect too.

-Hermione spoke too fast a few times, and was hard to understand. I guess that was supposed to be her character, though.

Otherwise, I thought it was a great movie, though I agree that they needed more Tonks.

Yayyy movie! I'll definetely buy that one.

Am I the only one who actually thought it was fantastic? I preferred the other ones, but I just wasn't as keen one this one. There just seemed too much cut out from it to make sense :/

I liked it. But they did cut out way too much.

they made umbridge act like hitler. but in pink. and with a wand.

butyeah. it was still pretty good.

the girl who played luna was so amazing.
