Pm Tracking

Post by Sam! »

This would probably be the quickest mod ever... you know how when you send a PM "Save to sent" is checked by default and tracking is not? Is there any way that tracking could be checked by default too? It's probably just like a Y/N setting in the code.

Yah, it's simple but its skin dependent. I don't think it should be checked.

Ok - im not the smartest person when it comes to this - but why exactly does it need to be tracked? I mean its just going to 1 person...and when they send ya back you will see it...

What good would tracking do?

Or is it like something that says if they have read your pm to them or not?

It says if it's been read or not. It's actually very useful to figure out if someone just isn't responding or they are just not reading it.

So if it's there by default, you don't have to remember to click it. And there's no real reason to unclick it b/c it doesn't take up your PM space.

If you noticed, there is more than one skin on the forum. The thing, is, they'd have to set EACH SKIN, that's about five, to do it. It's so easy it shouldn't take more than ten minutes total though.

A skin is a forum THEME. I guess you've never changed yours, you probably have the gray a blue one. The admins have provided a few "skins" that change the forum's colors. If you'd like to change it, it's on the side of the MY CONTROLS.

It's really as simple as doing: checked="checked" attribute to the form input for the checkbox.

That?s not the point though. We're not sure if others want it. We have just your thoughts. Overall when these sorts of things are polled at the forums of those who program these systems they find that people prefer tracking to be optional, not default.

Would you consider an official poll?
