Birthday Pm's

Post by Sam! »

Hey, I know this sounds kind of excessive, but I think it might be nice to PM users on their birthdays. Like a "Happy Birthday from HelpingTeens.org" to kinda make their day... I know we have those things at the bottom, but still...

I used to do that...haha...

Well mainly i did it for people who posted in my forum (sexuality) mainly because people come in and out of GS (general school) and don't have that inpact as those in sexuality...but i haven't done that for awhile...

But i think its a cute idea...

Could it be automatically done, admins?

I know they are going to say either:

A) It can be done, but there's no reason.

B ) Yes, we'll do it when Invision 2.0 comes out.

C) We don't want to install a mod, it might mess up the board.

Well... hmmm... lol. I could wait for 2.0...

Yah, eventually. Would be possible with the new task manager.

On my birthday no one sent me a PM saying 'happy birthday' :( so I think I took my bday out of my profile...I'm not sure. But anyway, to the topic...I think it's a good idea. :) A lot of other sites do it.

Sure it's nice to get the personal ones, but they'd still be sent. Just the auto one would make people feel good too.

I've never been fond of happy birthday messages that are automated. THey never feel personal, more like a "thansk for being here, pleace come back more often because we suposely like you but yet we are to lazy to daily send out happy birthday emials/pms, anyways, have a happy birthday!"

Alright then maybe as users we need to make a more consciencous effort to PM the users we KNOW on their birthdays when we see them. Thought.

Why not?? I dont think it is a NECISITY (sp), but I dont think it would be hard to do, nor harmful in anway. Even if the receiver doesnt appreciate it, others will. And for the people that already do that, then somebody will just be getting two birthday PM"s. No harm done. Good one Sam.

birthdays suck, i wouldnt want it emphasized by a letter or a topic, i dunno id just throw confettie and then never go back. birthdays are not a happy thing (in my opion) so we have pm's for it.
