Discussion: What Creates Romance In Your Relationship?

Post by CausticTears »

Heya,

SO this morning, I was watching The View on ABC (for those of you who don't what show this is: it's a group of women who sit around for an hour and talk about topics and have celebrity guests on). Today they started chatting about lust and love. "The two-year lust phase," "The boring sex-life after," "the romance after the lust phase." I started thinking about what one of the ladies pointed out; if the sex slows down... that doesn't necessarily mean the romance does too. She was trying to say romance and sex can be two different things. For example, a couple who argue a lot but are seemingly happy together. Maybe that's just their "thing" that keeps them together and creates romance between the two. Or if one partner gardens and the other organizes the medicine cabinet (something neither partner would do on a regular basis). Anywho - here's my question for everyone: in your relationships with friends/partners, what is your "thing?" What creates romance in your relationship?
Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.

We're a couple that does argue a lot but we don't go to bed angry. We will stay up all night long if we have to just so we can come to an understanding/agreement/resolution to our "problem". We also always tell one another how much we love eachother and give pick me up comments... tho I still can't get him to notice when I dye my hair... Anyway. But, that's what we do. <img src='http://www.helpingteens.org/groups/publ ... /smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />
