Ok, I know too many things are starting up, and they are, but how do I fix that?

Lexmark X1100 Series All-In-One Center (not currently running)

Volume (duh)

(My Yahoo screen name) - Full Access (On)

America Online (which I don't curently use anymore on THIS computer, but I was told not to delete it)

Update to RealPlayer 10 - Free! (I don't like/use RealPlayer)

MSN Messenger - Signed In (Away)

QuickTime (I don't..know what that is)

(Yahoo) Connection Manager (I would like for that to...)

EnterNet300 - 68.94.121.41 [Sent7252180] [Rcvd 69162575]

SBC Yahoo! Browser (Why so many Y! things)

Yahoo! Messenger (I don't use, my sister does)

AOL Instant Messenger (Away)

plus Clock (duh)
It's the little things that make a big difference.

Get rid of AOL. It's a ram hog. If you dont use it. uninstall it.

Get rid of RealPlayer, one it sucks, two its a ram hog, three it sucks.

Unfortunately you cant get rid of the Yahoo! stuff since its a DSL dialer.

yes, but we still use AOL, just not on this computer right now...So, how can I just make so that only one version is on there; or I WERE to delete it all, how would I use it again, since I already accounts and stuff?

if aol is not used on this computer it is safe to remove it

if you want to use it again, i'm sure you can find the latest version of aol's software on a cd free at stores (you know, the 1 month trial thing). just install it again and use your account info instead of the shit on the package.

You can add/remove them from starting up usually in the program options. If that doesn't work, there is a startup manager tool in Spybot search & destroy. But, you do need the Yahoo! SBC dialer.

I wouldn't suggest using virtual memory unless you have a SCSI hard drive. Since you have an older computer, you probably have a very slow drive and this will only slow down performance.

For under $20 you can get a stick of 128MB PC133 generic ram, for a little more a stick of 256.
