...this Annoys Me...

Post by SirPostAlot »

Ok there are very few things that annoy me but this actually does... - children...

I mean yeah im not found on little kids but it annoys me how everything is to protect them...

I mean i read people complaining about the ashlee simpson CD becuase young females will buy it and it talked about sex in it...

my beliefs is if she wants to sing about sex and that let her...let her publish it...don't bitch at it becuase it will "hurt little kids minds"

and who honostly believes that becuase kids play violent video games that show violence really "brainwash" a kid to take a gun to kill people...

and whats the biggest thing that pisses me off is how the fact its always the parents fault if their kid did soemthing wrong...

we had this thing in gov't...the parents put the child to sleep and went to sleep themselves...then the parents were arrested when thier kid opened up a snake cage that was locked and took out the snake that stranged her...they were arrested for "child neglect" ...

it isn't their fault...they locked it...their kid got out and opened the cage...

i dunno...i don't mean to sound nieve or a bitch or anything i just am sick of how the world revolves around babies, totlers, and young children

whos w/ me??

::raises hand::

I hate how parents shelter children. I have a good friend who was COMPLETELY sheltered before she met me. (Funny huh?)

Her parents didn't let her see R movies, they never taught her about sex, and she's just....god, it amazes me how fucking sheltered that child is.

I can't beleive parents are willing to raise children in a world like that today. They even taught her that all gay people had AIDS. I mean...honestly. How fucked up do you want your children to be?

I'm going to have a child and be completely open with her. She'll know what sex is, everything is...because either way, they'll have to deal with it. Sheltering them from it isn't the right thing to do. And like, sex isn't bad. At all. The kid's gonna have sex anyways. Might as well make em aware of it.

Cheers,

i agree and disagree. I believe in sheltering a child until they are mentally mature enough to deal with it. I'm not going to tell my 4 year old about anal sex! Anyways...overall i'd go with the more open relationship

If you don't want your kid to listen to music about sex, don't buy them ashlee simpsons album! Or listen to it first to make sure it doesn't offend you. By the time kids are out buying their own CD's, they're gonna be pretty clued up anyway.

And it's like that Eminem (I know, I know) lyric where he says "They say music can alter moods and talk to you, but can it load a gun up for you and cock it too?"

i dont agree with you. parents are doing a terrible job raising kids these days honestly. an example of that, over weight children. technically... if you think about it, everything a child does is a reflection on how parents raised them.

i agree that the snake in a cage thing is child negelect. for all you know the child could have had no idea what is was. the child probably had no idea that the snake was harmful. the child probably had no idea why the cage was locked. and it somehow, the kid got into a "locked cage," then it obviously wasnt child proof. in my opinion, that is definitely wrong and the parents should be punished.

Not necessarily true. There are many cases where theres something actually wrong with the child, and it's not the parent's fault.

you are correct, there are many cases, but do not try to argue that kids with actual serious problems out weight the kids who eat junk food and mc donalds all day with their parents approval. there are definitely alot less children with problems they were born with then children who just dont eat right.

Okay... where do I begin.

Kids are impressionable. They see someone who is older do something and they are just like "ah, oh I wanna do that too!" or "I wanna be like them" even if they don't outrightly express something that way. Kids think people older than themselves know something or have something that they don't. Thus as adults, older teens, etc., there's an assumed repsonsibility to be sensible about the choices we make public to our children.

Yes, adults will overreact about issues that are potentially harmful to their kids growth (much like the sex talk from Ashlee Simpson kind of issue). But they have good reasons to be upset about the crap that their children are becoming exposed to so regularly.

As teens now, we want to experience everything. At this age we want to push the boundaries and see what we can have. We want to see it all, we want life to be real and meaningful. To have this we've got to see it all, blunt force. But as teenagers, we aren't fully aware of what stuff we probably shouldn't have been exposed to. I have memories of crap I definitely didn't need to experience in the past when I should have been playing with Barbies.

Kids are the same... there are things they don't need to know about or be exposed to. And the reason we make things revolve around them is because what influences them to be their future person will decide who they are when we are old. You know the phrase "the children are our future." Well right now... those children are all the kids from the ages of about 20 and under, narrowing it down to the most impressionable 5 to 16 year olds. Give a boy something to think that abusing women is all right and those women he encounters are screwed. I don't know... it's necessary to be careful with our kids, a lot of their influence comes right from us.

You're right. I definitely agree that parents ARE NOT feeding their kids right and it's only harming the child. It's really not good at all.

But I feel that keeping a child too sheltered is not a good thing- thinking that little things are going to corrupt them, like PG 13 movies or something. I've been watching R movies since I was like... 9 and I think I'm not damaged or anything.

That's true. I mean, what's the harm in showing kids sex? Sex is like...fabulous. It'd be rare if they grew up and didn't have sex.

If the child has any common sense, he'll learn that sex is something that shouldn't be taken lightly.

young kids will mimic what they see. at a young age, rated R movies are not good for them. i definitely support that... children dont have common sense, thats the point. common sense is something you learn, not something your born with.

The problem with sex is that it is portrayed as something that is as harmless as having a first kiss. Suddenly you have fallen "in love" (on television) and the next thing you know you're either watching the scene take place or you watch the doors close behind as if it were something TO be taken lightly. A child doesn't learn about the value of sex without being taught something first. And I think I actually learned a lesson or two simply by being restricted to certain material. Right now you don't see the harm. And maybe you won't ever see the harm. If you take a look at your own life, the lives of others around you, or if you even start to recognize that fragility of the lives of your future children (if you have hopes of having them someday), then you begin to see these things as rated R movies and hanging out with a certain crowd that are bad influences on one who is entirely too impressionable and defenseless, as items that are unnecessary at an age. Sure there is a point in which ever child must experience the "bad" to understand that good... but it doesn't mean we just show it to them and think we're doing them some right by letting them just have at it.

All good points PPP but on the same token my parents hid it away, if anything loosely related to sex came on TV they'd try to get it off before I realised and they treated it as this horrible, wrong thing.

And to this day I've yet to have the sex talk! My parents have never ever discussed sex with me. And the message that has sent out is that it's dirty and sinful and wrong and I should be ashamed if I do it. And I'm sure when I pluck up the courage to have sex for the first time I'm be bloody terrified!

Yes, they have brains, but it is proven that children under the age of 12 don't have good judgement. They aren't fully developed and don't have a lot of common sense.
