Imoviefest2005

Post by PurplePoemPuppet »

The low down on iMovieFest is basically that floors in the residence halls are given a digital video camera, an Apple iBook, and an editing program to create any kind of movie they want that doesn't exceed 5 minutes. They have 5 days to film (not necessarily including planning) and edit their mini-video. Then the film is shown at Premier Night on campus for a free night of laughter and entertainment.

So if you want to watch a well-done video... watch Untitled (requires QuickTime 6.5), which won first place and I'm probably biased in my liking because the guys who made the video are from my hall, but then again... it IS really good. Be warned that this video could be *triggering.*

If you watch some of the others, there's a dramatic difference. Other good ones include Knit Club (also from my hall and won 2nd), Death by Facebook (for those of you college facebook addicts, you'll enjoy!), and Dude, They Took Our Door Thing!. Most all of them are pretty good so if you have the time, take a look and enjoy!

Hmmm... I thought "Untitled" was pretty crappy. The end made me laugh a little when the people were crying because it just looked so unsincere. That's terrible, I know. The music was good though

Haha I watched another.

I thought "Dude They Took Our Doormat" was random and funny. NOt deserving of any sort of award, but it was funny.

Wow, I loved 'untitled'. The scenes with him in the car & the flashbacks were amazing... and the music is beautiful. I haven't seen the others but I think it deserved to be first place.

I don't think the crying looked insincere. Maybe because I was 'feeling it' the whole way through, the ending didn't seem melodramatic.

Hahahaha. Untitled was really awesome, actually. I love how it was in sepia and black and white. The music fit it perfectly.

That's cute. I'd make an awesome movie that'd beat all the rest of y'alls. :P

Cheers,
