I am starting a GSA at my school, anyone have any advice or suggestions?
My school is generally homophobic as it the small town we live in...

Just remember this: be true to yourself, stay strong, and never give up!
People are going to try and tear you down, but don't let their negative comments divert you from doing what you want to do.
I want to start a GSA in my school, but I seriously lacked the balls to do so.

Hey there,
I had this same problem in HS. We wanted to start a GSA, but we never were really sure what we'd do with it, so we didnt fight too hard. But don't let anything stop you! There is a law that says if the school allows any after school activities and clubs, they have to allow all that apply, and can't pick and choose which to allow. So if you have any trouble, let me know and i can look that up for you.
Also, once you get it, if you're looking for things to do, let me know as well because we've had some great discussions here on things like religion, stereotypes, coming out day, day of silence, AIDS, etc.

thank you guys so much for you advice, I am working with a few other close friends to get this started and we are pretty unstoppable so i am pretty sure we can do it....we may have a meeting tomorrow about it, i will keep you all informed...and any more ideas please post!
